Plot:
This is one of the voice overs from “Trying to Reach 100,” a screenplay about Son, a man from Los Angeles, who needs to drive his father, Pops, from Iowa to California to put him in a nursing home. Feeling guilty, he decides to take Pops down Route 66, never imagining the trouble they would get into.
Background:
The review for “Trying to Reach 100” stated that they felt the voice overs were too lengthy and the Director’s would not be able to know what to do with them. This was definitely a challenge to take on.

Basically, it’s stated that Son is in the car looking out the window as the voice over occurs. Using AI generated images, several shots of Son, the Driver, and the Iowa landscape were edited together to form the visual basis for the voice over.

The male AI generated voices did not have the correct inflection, so Mari Bengston, voiced the voice over even though she is female.

The interesting part of this scene is that the audience gets time to wonder who is Pops and Son. This is would not be the situation with the full length film, but it is fun for the short film “Road to Pops.”
Some of the scenes looking out the side window show the car driving sideways. No matter what prompt, this could not be fixed.
The song is a soundtrack from LTX Studio.
