Animated Children’s Feature Film
Budget Projection: unknown (depends upon talent for the voices)
Plot:
Poppy Panda and Leo Lion wake up in the morning at Pretty Valley Zoo and realize that their normal zookeeper did not show up for work today. Worried that something might have happened to the zookeeper and terrified that they will never be fed again, Poppy and Leo go to their friend Phil the Peacock for advice. Phil suggests that they talk to Gina the Giraffe because she is so tall and can see all of the zoo. When they finally talk to Gina, she has her own ideas about what happened to the zookeeper. Not satisfied with her answer, Poppy, Leo and Phil talk to Sammy the Sealion because he has all the answers. Sammy’s hint that he heard the zookeeper sneeze forces Poppy, Leo and Phil to go talk to the dreaded Dr. Owl, Veterinarian for the zoo. Dr. Owl tells Poppy, Leo and Phil a theory of his own and hearing their stomachs growl, offers them a sweet treat.
Background:
I have been playing around with the concept of making a 3D animated film using only AI generated images. Unfortunately, technology is just not there yet to have AI generated images only to create a consistent film. In the process though of playing around with that possibility, I found these lovable characters that I just need to bring to life. So, that means back to the drawing board, literally, as I draw/sculpt/animate the characters using Adobe. It’s a fun project to work on in between my time trying to get my feature films greenlit for production, so I can work with actual humans again.
None of these videos have audio yet. I want to hire a composer and work with actors for the voices and I’m still in process of trying to figure out how much money I want to dump into this project.
Meet the Main Characters
Meet Poppy Panda and Leo Lion
Poppy Panda is a take charge kind of girl with a million ideas waiting to happen. She loves her friends and is well respected at Pretty Valley Zoo.
Leo Lion is a good friend with a large stomach. He’s a faithful friend, but sometimes can be a little shy around the other animals in Pretty Valley Zoo.
Meet Phil the Peacock
Phil the Peacock knows everyone at Pretty Valley Zoo and knows how to get things. His funny voice can be heard squawking across the zoo as he’s regaling tales of zoo glory, others and his own.
Meet Gina the Giraffe
Poor Gina the Giraffe has the height to see all across Pretty Valley Zoo, but lacks the eyesight to be able to clearly see what is going on. Gina’s motherly nature gently advises Poppy, Leo and Phil that the zookeeper might have taken a day off so because of her children. Sometimes mother’s are not able to be at work because they need to care for their family.
Meet Sammy the Sealion
Sammy the Sealion has so much energy that he needs to swim miles each day in the sealion exhibit pool. Sammy is a little forgetful and possibly a little fish-brained (he ate too many fish and you are what you eat, you know), but Sammy sometimes knows more than you think. Especially when Sammy heard the zookeeper sneeze yesterday! Sammy convinces Poppy, Leo and Phil that the zookeeper is on her deathbed and will never return!
Meet Dr. Owl
Dr. Owl is dreaded by the zoo animals because although he has a kind demeanor, many animals go to Dr. Owl and never come back. But, Dr. Owl is the wisest animal in the zoo, so Poppy, Leo and Phil feel compelled to go to him to ask if the missing zookeeper will live another day. Dr. Owl determines that the missing zookeeper is just taking the day off and will return tomorrow to give the animals food and treats. Hearing Leo’s stomach growl and deducing that Leo had not had breakfast because he was waiting for the zookeeper to return, Dr. Owl gives Poppy, Leo and Phil cookies, but just this once because it’s not good to fill up on cookies.
